About Kitty Uitentuis
02
Kitty’s love for architecture began early. Growing up in the UK, she moved house every two years—a rhythm that sparked her fascination with transformation, spatial identity, and the emotional power of design. “We always had a fresh palette to create a new design and make a new type of home,” she recalls.
Her formal creative journey began with a fine art and sculptural scholarship to Bryanston School, followed by an Art & Design Foundation at Kingston University. Seeking a practical outlet for her artistic instincts, Kitty pursued architectural studies and earned her Master’s degree from the Welsh School of Architecture, graduating with exceptional results.
Her formative years included internships at a sustainable architecture firm in Amsterdam, with Paul De Ruiter, and a heritage residential company in Hampshire, Spencer Architecture, giving her a broad grounding in both innovation and tradition. She began her professional career in London as an Architectural Consultant, for Filer&COX, contributing to high-end residential projects and private members clubs such as The Dover Street Arts Club, Lanesborough Spa, and The Farmers Club.
It was during this time that Kitty discovered her affinity for interior architecture. She took a leap of faith and relocated to Amsterdam, where she worked with FG Stijl on 5-star boutique hotels and restaurants including Park Centraal Hotel (Amsterdam), Carlton Hotel Collection (Edinburgh), and Kempinski (Munich).
From this foundation, Kitty has cultivated a career defined by the seamless integration of artistic vision and architectural precision. Her work is distinguished by her rare ability to interpret and elevate a clients vision, delivering environments that are both deeply personal and enduringly refined.
“No project is ever the same,” she says. “Your skills have to be malleable and evolve wherever the project needs them. That’s the fun behind design—you’re constantly learning, no matter how many projects you have under your belt.”
